RappFLOW Announces New Officers and Directors

At its July 2008 meeting, the members of the RappFLOW Board of Directors voted to add new members to the Board and elected new officers. B.J. Valentine was elected President. Jenny Fitzhugh is Vice-President; and Virginia Valentine is Secretary. Carolyn Thornton was elected to be a new member of the Board. Other continuing members of the Board include Beverly Hunter, Todd Benson, and Mary Katharine Ishee. Past-President Beverly Hunter will serve as Director of Research for the organization.

President B.J. Valentine and Secretary Virginia Valentine live on Tiger Valley Road near Little Washington. The Valentines spend much of their time outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping and gardening. B.J. is the Assistant County Soil Scientist for Fauquier County. Virginia is an Environmental Health Specialist with the Fauquier County Health Department. B.J. and Virginia are both graduates of Virginia Tech.

Jenny Fitzhugh lives with her husband in Old Hollow. Jenny is a Master Gardener. She has worked as naturalist for Fairfax County Parks, educator for public gardens, community college teacher of horticulture and native flora. She also has professional experience in social work, volunteer work with children and parents, and in helping families and communities resolve disputes. Jenny has taken leadership roles in Rappahannock County in activities to educate the public about watershed protection and home land management.
