Rappahannock Supervisors Pass Stormwater Ordinance

January 7, 2008
Bev Hunter

This evening the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the proposed Stormwater Management Ordinance and associated changes to the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. Present in the audience were several members of the public who had provided input to the drafting of the ordinance, plus visiting experts from the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District and Timmons Engineering, the contractor employed to write the ordinance.

Many thanks to all the many, many persons and organizations — including members of our Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors past and present — and of course John McCarthy, our County Administrator; and Greg Wichelns of the Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District -- who over the past several years have contributed in so many ways to the work that has provided the foundation for this key milestone in watershed protection in Rappahannock County and the Rappahannock River Basin.
